I have so many smart watches. Now it is ridiculous. I kind of forget which one is, which there’s literally a whole draw here full of small watches anyway. So this is the amaze fit gts 2, and this is the second generation of the amaze fit gts line. I recently reviewed the amazefit gtr. The two are very, very similar in terms of internal hardware um, but the design is different, so it kind of just depends which design you prefer once i’ve used this for a little while i’ll do a comparison between the gts2 and the gtr2 and you’ll see exactly The differences there are a couple of minor differences apart from the design, but yeah let’s just go into this video and open it up and see what we think let’s go. This is not the most graceful unboxing ever so, as i open this up, let’s just go through the main specs. The amaze fit gt. S2 features a 1.65 inch ammo led display with a resolution of 348 by 442 pixels. So here it is. This is the amaze fit gts2 let’s just take the watch out and have a look so in here we have the charger and a little book um not much exciting there to be quite honest, nothing, exciting bye, and here we have a magnetic charger. Oh right there’s a lot of stuff here. Let me just move all this out of the way just pops right in there, so yeah um, that’s, all the stuff we get in the box, not that exciting let’s.
Just oh, i love peeling this off bye. As you can see, it features a rectangular display this it’s, certainly the kind of classic apple watch shape. However, obviously um not identical in any other way to an apple watch. It features a single button here which, which i assume will turn the watch on and also take you probably to some menu systems. The gts is 42.8 by 35.6 by 9.7 millimeters in size, um it’s fairly thin at 9.7 millimeters. One of the thinner small watches that i own, which i do prefer as i have quite thin wrists – it weighs just 24.7 grams, so it is also pretty light. It features a silicon strap which is removable like most smartwatches. Now we can buy any kind of straps that we want um. So i would prefer a lighter leather one or a metal one, because i don’t like how silicon rubs against the skin it’s kind of irritating things about. So definitely one of the selling points of the 2 is the design of the watch. It is very sleek. It looks to be near the edge to edge display. I mean we’ll, see when i turn it on it. Just feels more expensive than it is. It does feature mostly plastic on the body, but it kind of feels like a premium hardened plastic, so that is pretty good. Let’S turn on the watch and see what we’ve got here see how good the screen is.
So i was very quickly able to connect to the app which controls the amazefit gts2, which is the zepp app which you need to download to activate it. But it was a very quick so yeah this is the gts2. The screen looks to be very, very high. Quality, it does feature that amoled color display and it has a resolution of three four eight by four four two pixels amoled displays are great for colors for saturation for uh. The difference between light and dark areas is always very impressive, so amoled displays are generally very high quality, so i think you’ll agree the screen, looking pretty sharp, pretty impressive, similar to, like i said, the amaze fit gtr 2. Has the similar screen same amoled color display the shape of the display means that this watch will have different screens different watch faces um the software will display a bit differently. I think these kind of square rectangular watches tend to display more information as there’s. Not so much of a cut off um yeah, i really like how the display looks, i think, it’s very colorful and seems to be super responsive, as you can see here. So like the gtr ii, the gts2 features some pretty awesome. Smartwatch features. This is a mid range smartwatch. It has it’s around about 180 um, probably slightly less in pounds and euros, but roughly that area it is meant for fitness and health tracking, and it has quite a few sensors that enable it to do that quite well.
It features a 24 7 heart rate, monitor a blood oxygen saturation, monitor air pressure, sensor, accelerometer gyroscope, a compass ambient light sensor, and it also has a built in gps. So that is quite a lot of sensors in this tiny little device and i think for the price. You are getting quite a lot there. For example, the apple watch features many of those same sensors, but the cheapest version doesn’t feature an spo2 tracker like the gts2. Does and the apple watch se, which i also have, is considerably more expensive. So in terms of sensors, it seems we’re getting a pretty good deal here, um, whether they are accurate, we will find out. I will also be wearing it and finding out in the next week or so so stay tuned, and i will let you know. The gts2 also features a microphone and a speaker. There are voice commands. You can control the uh, you can control the watch with your voice. Tell it what to do. Tell it to activate certain features. Deactivate start tracking things, stop tracking things, so you don’t necessarily have to be playing around with it. When you are tracking your workouts or something you can do all of your voice, also in a future update, it will have access to amazon alexa, so that will open up a lot more voice commands. What you get in the watch itself to work with is pretty good. I think, for the price.
It is all down to really how comfortable it is to wear how accurate the sensors are and whether all of those features are actually worth using, which is what i’m going to be finding out. So stay tuned i’ll be focusing a lot on the design of the watch. I think it looks pretty awesome, it’s better for people with thinner wrists or who don’t like that kind of sporty vibe who want a more subtle kind of smartwatch but yep um. So it looks good right now, so that’s the amaze fit gts unboxing. I hope you found that useful. What do you think of the watch? Do you think it’s a better option than the gtr 2, which i also have? This is the old gts1. As you can see, there’s been not much change, it seems in terms of design. I think they made it slightly. Smaller um slightly thinner and they’ve redesigned the button, so it doesn’t stick out as much, but apart from that um, i guess. Oh it’s a bit shinier as well, so i guess they have improved the design a little bit so yeah. I will be doing some comparison, seeing what the uh, what the competition is.
