This was one of the biggest purchases I made this year and, to be very honest with you guys, I found it very very difficult to justify its price tag at first, but call me crazy. The more I use this product, the more I am in love with it Apple says. The watch Ultra is for those Pro endurance, athletes, scuba, divers, Mountaineers, group of people, but even for a casual user. Like me, it kind of justifies the price tag, given all the features that you get here. Yeah the cheaper watch SE and series 8 are completely fine for most iPhone users, but the watch Ultra is like the iPhone Pro Series. It has got everything: okay, the first thing that I really love about the watch Ultra is this new badass design, which feels more modern, which videos more distinctive and ready for any kind of Adventure. Frankly, I see think the design of the regular word series lineup has now started to age and it looks quite unexciting as a result, Ive seen a lot of owners of older Apple watch now paying a ridiculous amount to get the watch Ultra. Instead, they just want to wear something that feels unique on their wrist. I also like how big the digital Crown is this time, and it can come really handy if youre wearing gloves, while youre on a trek or riding a bike. There is also an extra action button on the left, which is useful for activating certain shortcuts, with just a click.
The watch Ultra is also a pretty robust device thanks to the sapphire crystal glass protecting the display. I have not gotten any scratches on my unit until now, whereas if I recall my watch, series 7 suffered a lot of tiny scratches here and there in the very first months. Likewise, I was also expecting the watch Ultra to be quite bulky given its sheer size and how thick this thing is, and yeah thats exactly how feels on my hands. But my friends with a larger wrist dont feel the same way. Apple has used an aerospace gray, titanium frame which is 40 lighter than steel, but just as strong as high strength steel. So this thing is pretty ergonomic but, more importantly, it is very tough as well, and you can check out techwaxs video where he does drop. Okay, another aspect that the Apple watch Ultra thoroughly Nails is the display it is not just bigger and brighter, but because its flat and not curved, like the regular Apple watch scrolling and interacting with this display, has been a delight. I can even use apps like calculator without any kind of struggle here, plus this watch face called the wayfinder takes great advantage of this big display. There has never been so much information available at once on. An Apple watch is before it can host every information Id want at a glance from active Compass to workout details and battery life like it can host everything plus. I absolutely love this Blood Red night mode on this watch face which can be activated simply by rotating the digital crowd. As for the actual performance, as expected from an Apple Watch, everything is just fluid here. However, there isnt much of a performance leap coming from the previous generations and there have been times when I wish the watch Ultra had a slightly more powerful chipset, because when there are a lot of apps running in the background, I felt it wasnt as smooth as You would want an 800 smartwatch to be actually the S8 chip in the watch. Ultra is manufactured under the same 7nm process and features a dual core CPU as the S6 and S7 chips, but with tsmcs 3m process set to enter mass production by the end of this year.
We could see the next gen Apple watch, Ultra be more powerful and more battery efficient. Anyway, I am thoroughly enjoying the battery backup here on my Apple watch cd7. I always had battery anxiety because it would never last me for more than two days, but with the watch Ultra, I am constantly getting three days of battery life plus with the latest watch. In case you happen to get lost and you dont have any cell or Wi Fi reception to call others for help either by default. Youll need to manually start it, but Apple mentions that the watch Ultra automatically starts logging, your Trail, if it detects that you already somewhat remote area with weak, Wi, Fi or cellular signals anyway. I just could not get the automatic backtrack to work on my unit, even in places with incredibly remote Wi Fi signals showing up and where my phone was getting just a single bar of network and its not just me.
Other reviewers have faced the same issue with automatic Backtrack on their Apple watch address, so, hopefully, apple is working on an update, ASAP, okay. Moving on the call Quality on this watch is absolutely fantastic, though Ive tested a bunch of smart watches that can take phone calls, but the watch Ultra is on a whole different level. The onboard dual uh speakers get super loud and its triple microphones. Do a superb job at picking up my voice as well. Besides this, the Apple watch Ultra is also loaded with a loud 86 decibel siren for emergencies in case youre lost or injured, and you want to alert others around you. Its also quite an overkill for most people so, like I said at the very beginning of this video, the regular Watch series 8, the watch SE or even last years, World Series 7, which is now available for a discounted price, should be perfectly fine.
If you want the Apple watch experience without all the bells and whistles, but at the end of the day the watch Ultra is the best watch Apple has to offer, and I am pretty sure that a lot of iPhone users are going to buy it simply because It seems cool to own one and its somewhat of a status symbol too so yeah thats the truth in the materialistic world that we live in, so there you have it.
