Samsung Galaxy Fit 3: A Premium Fitness Band
Rupees are essentially Fitness tractors parading around as smart watches, and I understand the price limitations, but the problem I have with them is they’re more or less average fitness trackers and some of them have an unpolished laggy UI. Some of them have quality control issues.
Is This Killing Smartwatches Under 5K?
So when Samsung launched this, the new Samsung Galaxy Fit 3, the first thought in my head was: is this killing smart watches under 5000 rupees? I’ve been using this for a few days now, and this has almost all the features you want in a smartwatch under 5K.
Premium Design and Build Quality
The first thing I noticed about the Galaxy Fit 3 is how good it looks. Yes, it’s a fitness band, but the aluminum case, the power button, the sleek design, give it a very premium look. It looks really nice in the hand, and it is super comfortable to wear.
Advanced Features
This fitness band comes with a 5 ATM rating for water resistance and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. It has all the essential features you need for tracking your fitness activities throughout the day.
The Design
The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 comes with a silicon strap that can be easily removed and attached, making it convenient for users. The overall weight of the case and strap combined is less than 40 grams, providing a comfortable wearing experience throughout the day and night.
The Display
As expected from a Samsung product, the star feature of the Fit 3 is its display. It boasts a 1.6-inch AMOLED display, which is larger compared to other fitness bands in the market. The display quality is impressive, with punchy colors and a sharp UI. The brightness levels are adequate for outdoor use, and features like adaptive brightness and raise to wake function smoothly. However, some minor flickering and backlight dots can be observed on the always-on display mode, which may be a concern for some users.
Performance
Despite the minor display issues, the overall performance of the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 is commendable. The responsiveness of the device is quick, making navigation and usage hassle-free. The device offers all the necessary features expected from a fitness band, such as activity tracking and notifications, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Value for Money
With its sleek design, high-quality display, and reliable performance, the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 offers great value for money. Priced under 5000 rupees, it competes well with other smartwatches in the market, making it a compelling choice for users looking for a budget-friendly fitness companion.
Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 User Interface
Well, complimenting that is a UI that’s smooth, it’s the usual rtos with Samsung’s flavor, because you can see the one UI elements in the icons all across and it’s snappy to use. The band literally has 16 MB RAM and 256 MB storage, but these don’t matter, because the software here is fast, it just works.
Features of Samsung Galaxy Fit 3
As for the features, there are watch faces and there are a ton of watch faces in the app. You can even set a custom picture as a watch face. There are quick tiles on the right for all the important functions. You can tap on these tiles to get more details in the band itself and choose what tiles you want to add or remove. On the left side, you get notifications and can reply to messages, including Whatsapp messages with preset custom messages that you can customize in the Galaxy Wearables app.
Quick Settings and Applications
The top has quick settings for functions like sleep mode, AOD mute, torch, find my phone, water lock, etc. The bottom has all the apps, like Samsung Health which shows you all the activity, media controller which lets you control the music on your phone, and other apps like weather, calendar, timer, stopwatch, calculator, so all the basics are covered.
Fitness Tracking on Samsung Galaxy Fit 3
Now, this is a fitness tracker with various sensors and different fitness features. There’s step tracking with distance and calories burned, and it’s super accurate.
Accurate Fitness Tracking
I mean I did 100 steps, walk test to check the accuracy of this watch and it recorded 102 steps and I’ve been wearing this watch all the time and it hasn’t recorded steps out of the blue. While you know driving or sleeping or other things, there’s also heart rate monitoring, which is also fairly accurate, thank God for that there’s blood oxygen monitoring, sleep monitoring, stress test, definitely need that and there’s. Obviously, a ton of workout options to choose from in all these different categories.
Convenient Display of Workout Details
What I also like is that the Fit 3 shows you most of the workout details, Fitness details on the band itself, unlike a lot of other Smartwatches that literally force you to open the app. For example, I can see my workout details on the band like this easy. Now you do get more details in the Samsung Hil T, which is also clean and nice no ads and stuff like a lot of other apps, and it shows you all the fitness details you need, and it even has things like sleep coaching, blood oxygen during sleep. You can even enable things like cycle tracking or reminders for water intakes, so yeah. It has everything to keep you alive.
Seamless Connectivity
There is one thing to note, though: the Galaxy Fit 3 connects via The Galaxy wearable app and I’ve been using in the H4 Neo and everything works fine. There’s all the features, even fine. My band is present here, but there are a couple of additional features like fall detection and Camera remote.
Samsung Galaxy Fit 3: Battery Life and Charging
The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 comes with a 28 mAh battery that lasts for about 13 days. However, if you use the Always-on Display feature, the battery life is reduced to about 10 days. With the AOD turned on, the battery life further drops to only 3 to 4 days. It takes approximately 58 minutes to charge the device from 10% to 100% using the Pogo pin magnetic charger with a Type-C connector.
What’s Missing?
Despite its impressive features, the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 misses out on a few crucial components that may be essential for some users. Firstly, it lacks a microphone and a speaker, which means you can receive calls on the device but cannot make or take calls directly. Additionally, the absence of NFC functionality means you cannot use the device for tap-to-pay transactions. Moreover, the smartwatch does not have built-in GPS, necessitating the need to carry your phone along to track your routes while walking or running.
Does it Live Up to Smartwatches Under 5K?
The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 may not completely overshadow smartwatches priced below 5,000 rupees. While it offers a premium fitness band experience, the lack of certain features like calling capabilities and NFC may deter some users. Smartwatches, with their larger displays and additional functionalities, hold a unique charm that cannot be replicated by a fitness band. However, for those seeking a high-quality fitness tracker with advanced features, the Galaxy Fit 3 is a solid choice.
Samsung Galaxy Fit 3: Brand Value
The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 has certainly been turning heads in the wearable tech market. One of the key factors contributing to its popularity is the strong brand value associated with the Samsung name. With a reputation for quality and innovation, Samsung has managed to create a device that is both reliable and stylish.

The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 boasts a responsive AMOLED panel that provides a crisp and clear display. This makes it easy to view notifications, track fitness metrics, and navigate the device’s UI. The touch screen is smooth and accurate, enhancing the overall user experience.
Clean UI and Accurate Fitness Tracking
The clean UI of the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 makes it easy to navigate through the various features and settings. Fitness tracking is accurate and reliable, providing users with valuable insights into their health and activity levels. Whether you’re tracking steps, calories, or sleep patterns, the Galaxy Fit 3 delivers detailed and precise data.
Weird AOD Thing
Despite its many strengths, some users have noted a strange Always-On Display (AOD) feature on the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3. While this may be a minor quirk, it has not had a significant impact on the overall user experience. For many, this issue is easily overlooked in light of the device’s other impressive features.
The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 is a compelling option for those in the market for a budget-friendly smartwatch. With its strong brand value, comfortable design, responsive AMOLED panel, clean UI, and accurate fitness tracking, the Galaxy Fit 3 has a lot to offer. While it may have a few minor quirks, overall, it presents a solid value proposition for consumers looking for an affordable and feature-packed wearable device.
